It does the job. I hate getting one of these and they don\'t work. This one worked flawlessly the first time. Good buy, good price.

I wanted a thumb drive that I could swap cards in. This it does. Not all flash memory cards.
I put in my Sd card, as well as the one I just picked up (here), & it works great. I got it so I could bring along a few things for my lap top, or transfer pictures while on vacation. The bonus is that it allows you to use HC cards in an older laptop (or computer).
It reads & writes pretty fast (faster with faster cards obviously). Both ends are covered, & you can have the card in, with the back cover on (with the front one too).
I will say to make sure you line the SD card up, so you don\'t close the lock on the card. It\'s a snug fit, but not bad at all. Depends on how much you pay for it, versus what it\'s worth to you.
A penny for the reader & 10 bucks to ship? Not much tax on a penny. You can find these readers around at any geek place, for about five bucks. It ships separate (the company shipped quickly) of your other items.
So use it to \"upgrade\" your old computer to an HC reader/writer. Carry the files you want (depending on the size of the card you put in it (up to 8gb), & get going.
One thing to keep in mind on older OS systems & some cameras. FAT 32 doesn\'t go past 2 gigs of space. This reader will allow you to use the larger HC cards, but only at 2 gigs. For newer systems, it works fine at whatever your card space is (2 4 8). I\'ll explain more. You need to format your card, off your camera to take advantage of the HC flash drive (see my video).
Additional note: This works very well in your vehicle\'s USB player. Four, 8 & 16 gig cards work flawlessly.

Update: I want to say that the head contacts on this reader, broke & soldering didn\'t help it. Not really worth it if you want to remove this reader often.

This works great and it comes in handy if you don\'t have a slot on your device for your card but do have USB.
If you have a SD slot though, it will be faster than USB 2.0.

4 stars for an average rating. I was not happy by how cheaply the product felt, however i have had it for several months now and it works like a champ. If not for the flimsy build I\'d give it 5 stars.

Arrived on time and it was just around five dollars. I rate it 3 stars cause there are others more complete products at the same price.
